THE IRON CULLING
A militaristic world ravaged by a deadly plague, an immune soldier, fiercely loyal to the emperor, begins to question the brutal system after being tasked with overseeing the "culling" of his infected brother.

In the Alaskan wilderness, late 2997, an unknown virus, never before seen by humans, suddenly began infecting and rapidly mutating within the wildlife population.

The virus, which would come to be known as the Collapse Virus (Collapse-V), exhibited an uncanny ability to infect and replicate within a wide range of species, causing a highly virulent and invariably fatal disease. Affected animals erratic behavior before succumbing to the infection within hours.
Spread to livestock (March 15, 2998): As the virus spread unchecked through the wild animal population, infected animals began migrating to areas of higher human activity and density, drawn by the scent of food and human settlements.
The first recorded cases of the virus infecting domestic livestock occurred on cattle ranches and farms. Cattle, pigs, and poultry began falling ill and dying in droves, with farmers reporting symptoms similar to those observed in infected wildlife.
Transmission to humans (April 10, 2998):
Authorities initially dismissed these reports as isolated incidents or unknown infectious diseases, failing to recognize the impending catastrophe.
While attempting to salvage infected meat from a deceased cow, a farmer accidentally exposed himself to the virus. The pathogen's high transmissibility and short incubation period allowed it to quickly spread to the human population.
THE CITADEL
A massive, heavily fortified city-state, the last of organized human society.
The Citadel is extraordinarily heavily fortified, designed to be an impenetrable sanctuary for the immune population.
The Citadel is surrounded by towering, reinforced concrete walls that stretch for miles, preventing any unauthorized entry from the outside. The sheer height and thickness of the walls make them nearly impossible to scale or breach.
Strategically placed guard towers line the outer walls, manned by elite soldiers equipped with advanced weaponry. These towers provide a full view of the surrounding area.The towers are also connected by a network of catwalks and bridges.
If you leave the Citadel, you have to navigate through multiple layers of security before reaching the Citadel once more. Each ring of fortifications is guarded by patrols, checkpoints, where you must have ID and proof of both health and citizenship.
THE IRON COMMAND
The Iron Command is the ruling military that maintains absolute control over the Citadel and the remaining human society. With authority extending into every aspect of life within the fortified city-state.
DIVISIONS
The Iron Command consists of a council of high-ranking military leaders, handpicked for their ruthless efficiency, loyalty, and immunity to the plague. They are divided into various divisions, such as the Citadel Defense Force (CDF), the Quarantine Enforcement Division (QED), and the Scientific Research Institute (SRI).
CITADEL DEFENCE FORCE
The CDF Navy is responsible for controlling and monitoring the waterways surrounding the Citadel, as well as protecting vital maritime supply routes. They operate a fleet of patrol boats, minesweepers, and a limited number of naval assault vehicles for amphibious operations.
The CDF Army is organized into regional corps, each responsible for the defense of specific sectors of the Citadel's walls and the surrounding buffer zones. They are equipped with a mix of modern and repurposed military vehicles, as well as advanced weaponry, including automated turrets, anti-personnel mines, and vehicle-mounted guns.
QUARANTINE ENFORCEMENT DIVISON
The Quarantine Enforcement Division (QED) is a specialized branch of the Citadel Defense Force, tasked with the critical mission of enforcing the quarantine and containment protocols both within the Citadel and in the plague-ridden world outside. The QED operates with a high degree of autonomy and has broad powers to maintain the safety and security of the immune population.

They are responsible for inspecting and assessing the health of travelers, as well as their belongings, to prevent the introduction of infected materials.
SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH INSTITUTE
The Scientific Research Institute (SRI) is a vital Citadel institution dedicated to the study of the plague, the development of medical countermeasures, and the pursuit of knowledge to enhance the survival and well-being of the immune population. The SRI works in close collaboration with the Quarantine Enforcement Division (QED) and other Citadel agencies to stay at the forefront of understanding and combating the ever-evolving threat posed by the Collapse-V.
The SRI is led by a Director, who is a renowned scientist and expert in infectious diseases, appointed by the Emperor and the Citadel's High Council. The Director oversees the work of researchers, scientists, and support staff across various departments;
Virology and Microbiology Lab Focuses on studying the genetic structure, behavior, and evolution of the Collapse-Virus. They work to understand how the virus infects cells, replicates, and causes disease in its hosts.
Epidemiology and Surveillance Monitors the spread and prevalence of the plague, both within the Citadel and in the world at large. They collaborate with the QED's Intelligence and Surveillance department to track and analyze outbreak trends.
Vaccine Development Dedicated to the creation and testing of potential vaccines and immunotherapies designed to protect against the Collapse-Virus. Despite the virus's high mutation rate, they continue to pursue a viable and durable vaccine solution.

Born in Russia in 2986 but orphaned at twelve years old when his hometown was destroyed, soldiers shooting innocents on the suspicion of infection. Callum was sent to a Military school in the Citadel with his newborn younger brother, Liam where they were taken in by an officer that raised them and taught them english.
Callum was taught empire propaganda from a young age and became a soldier at 16, enlisting in the Iron commad to make something of himself. He became an officer at 29. He gained the title "Iron fist" for underground fighting within military rings. Callum has taken on the parental role over his brother Liam after their caretaker passed a few years ago.

Liam was born in Russia in 2998 and raised by his older brother, Callum. After being taken in by an older officer with his brother at the military camp in the citadel, Liam stayed at home until he was old enough to start going to school. Liam did private training as his immune system was on the weaker side.
When Liam was old enough, he enlisted in the Iron Command to follow in his older brother's footsteps, much to his brother's dismay. Liam is known as both a troublemaker and heartbreaker, usually using his brother to get out of trouble. Liam has recently gotten infected after being in contact with an infected animal while on patrol.
THE THORNHILL FAMILY
The Thornhill family was a wealthy, influential, and ambitious aristocratic dynasty with a long history of political and financial prowess before the plauge.
They had amassed a vast fortune through a combination of astute business dealings, strategic marriages, and a reputation for ruthless ambition. The family had a strong focus on genetic purity and had long been known for their striking white hair and purple eyes, which had become a symbol of their lineage.

Bane's earliest fascinations were dark and morbid, even for a child. There were troubling signs that Bane was not like the other children, a chilling emptiness that deepened with each passing year. He lacked the natural empathy and sympathy that other children possessed, instead finding a twisted fascination in the suffering of small creatures.
Bane's father, Emmanuel, watched with concern as his son's fascination with death and macabre objects grew. He tried, in secret, to seek help for the boy - consulting with doctors, therapists, and even occultists, desperate to find a way to guide Bane onto a healthier path. However, all attempts at intervention proved unsuccessful.
Bane is a leader who prioritizes the survival and security of the Citadel above all else. He is not afraid to implement harsh measures to protect the immune population, even if it means sacrificing individual lives or human decency.The most disturbing aspect of Bane's personality is the rumor that he is a cannibal, with his blood supposedly possessing healing properties. While not explicitly confirmed, the whispers and speculation about his dining habits have contributed to his aura of danger and otherness.
The emperor is highly protective of his privacy and the secrets of the Citadel. He has a circle of trusted advisors and employees, but ultimately trusts no one implicitly expect his general, Callum Wright.
Bane carries on the symbol of his lineage with his striking white hair and purple eyes.

Emmanuel Thornhill, the previous ruler of the Citadel before his untimely death at the hands of his son, Bane, was a man of stark contrast to his successor in terms of personality and leadership style. Despite being a member of the ambitious and ruthless Thornhill family, Emmanuel possessed a kinder and more compassionate nature.
The previous emperor invested in and supported scientific research aimed at finding a cure for the plague, rather than just focusing on containment and the preservation of the immune population. He believed that a cure was essential for the long-term survival and well-being of humanity.
Unlike his son, Emmanuel was known for his relative compassion and concern for the well-being of his subjects. He genuinely cared about the plight of those affected by the plague and the hardships faced by the Citadel's population.
The previous emperor was more inclined to negotiate and find compromises than his son. He believed in the power of diplomacy and unity in the face of the global crisis.Emmanuel was a man of great intellect, with a deep understanding of the world beyond the Citadel. He spoke multiple languages and had a broad knowledge of history, philosophy, and the arts.
Emmanuel was more open to trade and diplomacy with other survivor communities, seeing the value in collaboration and the sharing of resources and knowledge in the fight against the plague. About to collaborate with a community across the Atlantic, he is suddenly murdered by his successor, Bane Robert Thornhill.
